  • Where to find me

    You can find me at Clifton Sky Yoga Fridays.

    I am mainly mobile, so I come to you with all of my equipment including towels, table and oils.

  • What are the benefits of massage?

    To name a few…

    Massage is great for relaxation, regulating your nervous system, activating the para-sympathetic (rest and digest), which helps reduce stress.

    Massage moves lymph around the body, flushing out toxins, reducing inflammation and any swelling.

    It also helps move stagnant blood (cupping is brilliant for this), blood gets stuck in tight muscles and can become old, massage and cupping help get the old out and new in.

    Relaxing the nervous system improving mental health, improves energy levels, decreases pain, increases range of movement, increases flexibility, helps muscle relaxation, and feels great!

  • What do I wear?

    Your undies! I will leave the room whilst you get undressed and under the towel. I only get one body part out at a time so you will feel covered.

  • Can I have a massage whilst injured? and will it help?

    This depends on the injury and what it has occurred. If it has happened up to 3 days before it is advisable not to touch it as the inflammation needs to do its healing magic.

    Massage is a fantastic tool for muscle relaxation. Sport massage can work directly with the muscles that are tensing up around the injury. These muscles are wanting to protect the sensitive area, but are actually causing a lack of movement, pain and the inability to start your rehab. Relaxing those can be beneficial.

    In short massage is very helpful in injury, you just need to make sure you have a good practitioner

  • Is massage good for mental health?

    It is an amazing check in with yourself, not only physically you find out which parts are hurting or sensitive but you also get a moment to recenter, ground and breathe. It is perfect to calm anxieties, mellow mean thoughts and quiet an over active busy brain.

    Bodywork treatments are an hours assisted meditation, an amazing treat for the mind and body.

  • How does massage relieve pain?

    Massage strokes work with the muscle by stretching, warming and improving circulation to that muscle.

    This added circulation floods new blood, lymph, nutrients and oxygen into the muscle, pushing out old stagnant fluid and helping the area recover faster.

    Also, the muscle warming helps to relax the muscle. Paired with stretching it helps to lengthen, (a tight muscle shortens) once the muscle is at it usual size it will decreases the pulling on the attachments and therefore decrease pain and uncomfort.
